Beach Party Bliss
Enchanting dancing pixie dissidents Unveiled a midnight moon's darker visage Capturing time in surreptitiousness Living in a dream, within a mirage Radiant fire-twirling divas twisting Goddesses spin gold dust, dancing on knees Lovers catch falling stars in secret bliss Circus kids past bedtime fly on trapeze Future mamas aglow, full naked fruition Coconut shell for a baby bottle Swinging and swaying in natural intuition Phenomenal bass wobble full throttle Bump, boogie, grind; get down, and twerk it Flouro threads with windswept dreads blowing wild Sand massage treat while bare feet working Activate higher mind, lasers beguile Travellers shuffling out of their backpacks Desert tribes stomping in from the outback Tarot daze in a paisley purple haze Melodious riffs interrogate tempo Telestic teachings in telepathy amaze Ascension via such elegant allegro Proud queens frolic in frisky demeanour Schoolies kicking off their dusty downfall Vintage disco vets bounce back on the floor Which the Fae Folk have created for all Bend, swirl, slide, stretch and flex How to escape this sonic hex? When a Faery circle tied my bare feet To a relentless sweltering summer beat Surrendering to the DJ dream hustler On a shimmering shore of incandescent lustre Flashing fiery glances played catch with my third eye, Blinking like strobe light through a quicksand illusion of night.
River of Sweat
(A Terza Rima)
Only two ways to drift along the Nile, Row in, flow out; in oblivious bliss, River made of sweat, freedom of Denial. Digging these plots for missing gods’ wishes, Those mummified masters, we aim to please! Knee deep with shovels, falling in ditches. Sun Ra in the sky unfolds the dark seas, Cryptic bricks tiled for lost eternity, In light we bathe in this river of disease. Osiris, surrender the sacred key! Awaken, Isis! Alive, lush, and fertile, Unlock the tombs – let these slaves run free. Bodies washed up on the banks of the Nile That fateful night the slaves fled the city of Denial
Storm Painter
Multi-tidal mayhem backsplash belting faces, Headbanger beats, rhymes, inner ears, welting bass. Time, vorticular in its playback, churning high-wire visions anomalously, yearning, insistence, no resistance to an influx of inspiration. Pandemonium brings – a planet’s anthem, singing wings of the wind, To paint with my soul, I can’t see at all, freed – Splattering her stormy drama, embodied.
Postcard from the Lovers’ Edge
(A prose poem)
Do you remember the night market, the man with the fisherman’s hat, ciggy precariously poised on fat lips. His chubby fingers placed a little fortune fish in my palm. Tails coiling up for love, down for doom. Then you took me to your secret lookout, diving to show off, lost in the night. Our last.
